When Chronograph partnered with Anthropic last fall, the response was immediate. LP clients enthusiastically shared their use cases, ranging from core efficiency gains to brand new, unexpected, and exciting applications. That post has since become one of the most-popular Chronograph blogs from 2025.
Now, with the Claude connector having been live for General Partners for some time, we are seeing that same enthusiasm and crowdsourcing of ideas from the other half of our client base. While GPs and LPs are different in nature, it is interesting to see commonality between them in their use of AI – leveraging Chronograph’s trusted, real-time dataset to drive time savings, accelerate time to insights, and build confidence in decision making.
Here are five of compelling, but nonexhaustive, use cases that have been shared by Chronograph GP clients already.
LP expectations have shifted materially. The volume of recurring and ad hoc requests has grown steadily, and the bar for quality and speed of responses has risen with it. GPs using the Chronograph Claude connector are meeting that bar without adding headcount.
Rather than pulling data manually and drafting responses from scratch, IR teams query their live Chronograph data directly in Claude and generate polished, data-driven company summaries and fund updates in a single prompt. One client used the connector to build an interactive dashboard for an LP seeking deeper reporting on a portfolio company – budget vs. actual performance, company-specific KPIs, and the firm’s latest tariff survey responses, surfaced from Chronograph in seconds. What was previously a multi-hour exercise across systems is now a one-prompt workflow.
In private capital, the edge goes to those who are prepared. Chronograph GP clients can now access their most critical portfolio intelligence on mobile – so whether heading into a board meeting, a fundraising session, or a moment of reflection at 30,000 feet, the intelligence they need is already in their pocket.The mobile experience brings the full depth of the Chronograph connector into a format that matches how senior investment professionals actually work. A quick query before walking into a meeting surfaces the same quality of analysis available at a desk: performance summaries, portfolio company updates, and fund-level metrics rendered cleanly on any device.
Chronograph’s Claude connector is much more than a chat interface. For example, clients can leverage Claude’s PowerPoint Add-In in tandem with Chronograph data via Model Context Protocol to refresh presentations efficiently. Hard-coded figures that previously required manual lookup and copy-paste are replaced with validated Chronograph data in real time. This particular client that shared the use case rolled this out during the preparations leading up to their 2026 AGM, supporting faster iterations between versions, pixel-perfect branding within their approved templates, and trust in the resulting data flowing through.
One venture capital investor on Chronograph has created a Claude Project to monitor deployment pacing against their original plan and ensure highest-conviction companies have adequate reserves for follow-on rounds, protecting ownership at critical inflection points.
When a breakout company approaches its next raise, the team uses the connector to surface insights about follow-on reserves and potential dilution to get a more immediate sense for pro-rata check sizes, post-money ownership, and return implications for different fundraising scenarios.
With longer holding periods becoming the norm across private equity, the pressure to actively manage portfolio company performance has never been greater. GPs are using their Chronograph data within the Claude connector to assess value creation initiatives, evaluate company health ahead of board meetings, and stress test exit scenarios using underwriting, base, best, and other forecast cases. For deal teams managing large portfolios, the ability to run this kind of analysis on demand changes the cadence of how portfolio companies get reviewed.
These five use cases span across strategies, fund sizes, and teams showing enormous potential for Chronograph’s off-the-shelf AI solutions for GPs of all shapes and sizes.
